Looking at the Past...Part 2

This is part two of "Looking at the Past". Here Monica Delgado will share her memories of Rodrigo Enriquez.

Exactly like my brother-in-law said, they (Gloria Valdez and Rodrigo Enriquez) had never met but their spirits were so much alike. When my Tio passed in March 2008 it was very much a shock and also a very unkind reminder of how my beloved Grandmother had also left this world forever. But, the way they looked at life and all the wonderful memories they have left are cherished by many.

Rodrigo Enriquez

Uncle Rod, always on the go, always looking for the next chapter of his life. His laugh was contagious, his adventures almost surreal, and his love abundant. He too spoke from his heart and meant what he said, telling all to live life and enjoy it. His gardens, he was always proud of, his thumb was mostly green with splashes of color here and there. Every week there was a new project happening at his house and the family knew to be ready to get together to go see the finale.

Recently, our family held a memorial in honor of Tio and here will share some thoughts and memories from some of our family members.
We remember …..

His accident prone ski trips, his love of wine, his Ray-Ban glasses, his crazy driving, the camping trips, the cook-outs, his smile, his dance moves, the fish pond, the shrimp scampi, his brown sandals, that he always said, ”don’t worry, be happy”, and the list could go on forever and ever.

There’s a picture I have that gives me a clear understanding of how much he enjoyed life. I was young and don’t really remember the exact moment but one thing’s for sure, I don’t think there are many “uncles, brothers, fathers, or sons” that would dress up in a Santa Clause suit for Christmas. Now that is spirit!

Thank you, Horacio, for allowing me to post this on your blog and to let many know of two wonderful people that we know touched our lives and many others.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

Great memories this is something that I can read over and over again and still get teary eyes thinking about these two wonderful people that are gone forever of our lives but continue in our memories, therefore I think that by pictures we can see so much and remember the past.
